June wasn’t particularly eventful which is what we needed after our mini moon, but we did drive to New Hampshire to see Peter’s family. His uncle Dwight had passed away earlier in the year, but they decided to do his burial in June. This was actually my first time going to something like this. My mom’s side of the family is huge and she’s a pretty private person so I’ve never met most aunts and uncles or distant relatives. I didn’t know his uncle that well, but it was nice to see everyone there. Everyone came back to Peter’s parents’ house afterwards. People were sharing memories about Peter’s uncle, many folks brought food to share, Peter’s nephews were playing and bonding with us — I don’t know, it was just nice to see everyone. We also brought our pup, Valentine with us and she had fun soaking up the sun.
The rest of the month was spent just enjoying the increasingly warmer days. Summer had arrived. This post is mostly for family since I’m really delayed in sharing these photos — Chris and Marie, hope you like them! But check back again soon for the most perfect cookie recipe! xo
