We are just days away from the autumnal equinox… I couldn’t be happier! I’ve noticed that a fair amount of Mainers do not share my love for fall. I don’t blame them: summer here is brief and well, it’s Maine…everything is beautiful and summer really shows it off. It’s almost a requirement to enjoy it extra hard. Summer used to be my favorite, but growing up in Maryland really made me dread the humid and sweaty weather. Philly wasn’t any better. Summer in Maine is different. It gets hot too, but it usually cools down in the evenings and most mornings (one of the reasons why I moved here). Still, autumn has my heart forever and ever.
As the seasons transition, I thought it would be fitting to post some of my favorite moments from June to mid-September. That and I’ve been ignoring this blog again. I don’t mind the pauses between posts, but I hate to see all the photos I take piling up on my hard drive. I even started using film again. At the beginning of this year, I was fortunate to add two film cameras to my collection. It feels like a waste if I don’t take advantage of it and dedicate more time to photography like I used to.
But everything has felt like it’s been on hold this summer anyway. I’ve said “yes” to so many things this year and I might have bitten more than I can chew a few times, but it’s all coming to an end this week. More time to see friends, work on art, organize and strategize further for Fern House Co clients, and have time for myself. I love slowing down. I’ve missed it. I do like being busy, but not to the point where I can hardly hold my head above water. So, I hope whoever still reads this blog, that you are also slowing down and enjoying some time for yourself.

Gah, after looking at these photos I’m surprised I’ve never been to Maine. Absolutely beautiful!
I hope you start posting again soon. I’m a new reader and I just binged all of your past entries. 🙂
